When you combine the country’s best period instrument musicians and vocalists with one of the world’s most visionary conductors, the sound is unmistakably PBO. Passionate. Brilliant. Original.

Not all orchestras are the same. And Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra & Chorale loves being different. We play historically-informed music. Comprised of the most talented instrumentalists and singers in the country, our ensemble comes together each month to play music from the Baroque, Classical and pre-Romantic periods. We also perform new commissions to showcase the extraordinary work of today’s bright composers. It all happens under the inimitable musical direction of Nicholas McGegan who brings fresh interpretations to historic works and pushes the boundaries with a range of music.
