Stravinsky’s “neo-Baroque” style views Baroque idioms through a modern lens. The rise of historically-informed performance practice that aims to reconstruct\, as far as possible\, the overall sound world of Baroque music as it was\, has also impacted modern composers\, who may well for write for the harpsichord instead of the piano\, or who may explore the sonic possibilities of earlier string\, wind\, and brass instruments.
