Double the Impact of Your Gift

We’d like to invite you to participate in an exciting matching gift challenge we’ve received from Bloomberg Philanthropies.

In recognition of our artistic excellence and organizational strength, Philharmonia was awarded an unprecedented $150,000 this past year from Bloomberg. In order to be eligible for a second $150,000 grant next year, we need to match that grant with $30,000 in additional funds. We are over 2/3 of the way there and need your help to close the gap by June 30 to meet our goal.

With their funding this year — and with your support — our triple anniversary season was a milestone year:

  • Each of our concerts received high praise and the 3rd year of our alternative concert series aimed at new audiences – SESSIONS – sold out both performances.
  • Two tours to Walt Disney Concert Hall, Carnegie Hall and the Segerstrom Center in Orange County, as well as sold-out debuts in Montreal and Quebec City, were critically acclaimed and included a beautiful commissioned piece by Pulitzer Prize-winning composer Caroline Shaw.
  • February saw an exuberant gala at City Hall featuring a magical concert with renowned mezzo-soprano Susan Graham in celebration of Music Director Nicholas McGegan’s three decades with PBO.
  • To top things off, we’ve seen unprecedented growth in subscriptions and single ticket sales!
Thank you for being such an integral part of an amazing year. We hope that you’ll help keep that string of success going and make a gift by June 30 to meet Bloomberg’s challenge.
