Cantorial (Re)Volutions

Star countertenor Aryeh Nussbaum Cohen, San Francisco’s Temple Emanu-El Cantor Emeritus Roslyn Barak, and others will join Francesco in an evening of song and dialogue, exploring synagogue repertoires—ancient, old, and new as well as repertoire from the Baroque to modern. Our guests will discuss the evolution of the cantorial soloist, changes in gender perception and roles, and how they bridge the worlds of thesacred, operatic and other repertoire.
