About the Workshop: “Essential Bach with Specialist Bruce Lamott,” featuring live performance and an opportunity to try out an historic keyboard instrument!
J.S. Bach enthusiasts (families, teachers, and music lovers) are warmly invited to participate in this hands-on, fully participatory Workshop! All are guaranteed to learn something new about the all-time great composer. Workshop leader Bruce Lamott will guide the audience in a rousing sing-along of Bach Chorales; perform enduringly popular music with Festival Music Director and violinist Lisa Grodin; give an entertaining and informative demonstration of Bach’s performance practices; explore Bach’s keyboard realizations; and as time allows, work with selected Festival applicants in a masterclass format.
Audience questions and dialogues with Bruce Lamott will be encouraged throughout the Workshop. The event will conclude with an opportunity for the audience to try an historic keyboard instrument. Light refreshments and informal mingling will follow the event.
No tickets or registration required. Come as you are.
