Give Me the Moonlight — Decisions, Decisions…

As a final Beethoven Bit for 2020, PBO Music Director Richard Egarr will make a hard-core investigation of perhaps the most famous piano piece ever written — the 1st movement of the ‘Moonlight’ Sonata. This will be an open and frank exposé of the questions and thought processes that SHOULD make up a historical approach to such a movement, but are often ignored. You might be shocked and appalled at some of the answers that we find, and how this piece should really sound. Roll over Beethoven!
