Philharmonia Baroque’s Artist Salons are pre-concert talks led by performers, scholars, and guest artists. Offered a few weeks before each concert set, they provide historical and cultural context in an engaging setting, designed to deepen your connection to the music.

In this Artist Salon, violinist Rachell Ellen Wong is joined by conductor and keyboardist David Belkovski for a discussion of Baroque On Stage. Featuring Wong’s personal selections, the program brings together lively overtures, tender airs, and music for dancing that once captivated 18th-century audiences. With musical excerpts from Purcell, Rameau, Vivaldi, Geminiani, and C.P.E. Bach, they’ll consider the rhythm, drama, and virtuosity at the heart of this vibrant repertoire.
