Philharmonia Baroque Chamber Players Present The Melodious Clarinet

Berkeley Festival & Exhibition
By the late 18th century, the clarinet had come into its own as a fully-fledged instrument capable of great virtuosity, as well as exquisite tenderness. In this compelling program, Philharmonia Baroque’s principal clarinetist Thomas Carroll curates a program that showcases the first flowering of the clarinet on period instruments. From Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s beloved clarinet quintet to a work by German composer Johann Georg Heinrich Backofen, enjoy an evening of brilliance and beauty.
