Conductor and keyboard virtuoso Richard Egarr returns with a program of Handel and two of Handel’s most admired composers. That admiration extended to borrowing and reworking musical ideas from both Corelli and Muffat in a time when copyright was unknown. Handel’s organ concertos were a unique intermission feature that added further audience appeal to performances of his oratorios. The concerto grosso is an ideal form for spotlighting individual virtuosi within our orchestra.

CORELLI Concerto Grosso Op. 6, No. 10 in C major
MUFFAT Sonata No. 5 in G major from Armonico tributo
HANDEL Concerto Grosso Op.6, No. 4 in A minor
HANDEL Organ Concerto No. 15 in D minor
CORELLI Concerto Grosso Op. 6, No. 2 in F major
