PBO’s Jews & Music Initiative goes virtual! Once a month, with Jews & Music Scholar-in-Residence Francesco Spagnolo as your guide, take a virtual exploration that probes the rich legacies of Jewish composers and performers; non-Jews who worked with Jews or drew inspiration from them; the socio-political milieu they inhabited; and Jewish themes that have emerged across music and visual art over time.

Once a month, a new composer joins PBO Artistic Partner composer Tarik O’Regan and Music Director Richard Egarr (“Tarik & Rick”) in a riveting interview, sharing personal insights and inspirations surrounding writing new music for old instruments — amidst lots of laughs and a whole lot of fun!
UP ON THE DOWNBEAT
PBO’s dance classes for the masses! Hosted and curated by Artistic Director of Dance Through Time Jennifer Meller, each event in this series features a visual presentation covering a particular facet of the history of dance and its relationship with the music of the time — alongside an interactive dance lesson. Get those dancin’ feet ready!
MASTERCLASS
In furtherance of its mission to provide opportunities of educational growth to aspiring musicians everywhere, PBO is excited to offer Virtual Masterclasses featuring a variety of stars in the field. From a pool of applicants, a leading artist will select three emerging musicians to work with them during this live Zoom event. The three artists’ submitted performance videos will be showcased, followed by a short lesson with the class’ leader in real time.
